Our society influences our work and play habits as well as our self- and other perceptions. It has an impact on our morals and our sense of good and wrong. This is how our choices are influenced by the society we live in. However, the decisions we make can affect other people and ultimately shape our society. The Individual and Society 2016.
I recall being under pressure as a child to live up to expectations placed on me by my parents, my friends, and society at large. Like many others, I felt pressured to conform to the desired behaviors and perspectives that were regarded as desirable and acceptable. The intricate web of society standards can be difficult to traverse, and there can be tremendous pressure to fit in. I have had many instances where I felt pressured to live up to expectations, even when those expectations conflicted with my personal principles and convictions. For example, I have some Christian / judgemental coworkers every time we are having a social gathering, I find myself conforming to their expectations by wearing what I think will look appropriate to avoid any judgement.…show more content… Watched many of my cousins adopt lifestyles that align with societal norms. On the hand I choose not to conform to pressure from society, I believe in making my own choices and decisions and will let dictate when the right time is to start a family. To deal with those pressures we need to be resilient and follow our own path, balance individuality with fitting conformity and seek support from like-minded individuals and
