Abstract: This case study explores five concepts related to late adolescence. The goal is to assess the individual's present stage of development and traits in relation to the five ideas. The five concepts include the following: Eriksons stages of development, self-regulation, peer/ romantic relationships, working, and the relationship with their parents. The results were gathered through a one-on-one interview with a nineteen-year-old male. The individual was asked a series of questions regarding their current stage of development. The goal of this case study is to investigate one person and compare him to the concepts stated previously, then assess the results to determine where the individual is in their development. Method Participant The individual participating is a nineteen-year-old male. He is the only child. His parents are married and still together. The individual graduated high school last year. The individual is currently in college. Procedure The case study was conducted by asking one-on-one questions in relation to the individual’s development. Participants were asked what peer groups they spend their time with. The participant laughed and explained it was a fun one, later admitting they tend to lean towards more reckless decision making. The individual is currently in a relationship. When asked to express the struggles within the relationship, the individual expressed an understanding of their own autonomy within the relationship but is willing to grow and work together with their significant other; this was followed by the participant providing a positive outlook on how challenging one another creates more opportunities for growth, showing the participant has a positive outlook on the relationship and the future of the relationship.
