The second summative assessment will be a short paper that details what the students learned. Additionally, they will be required to take a side on whether or not government action during the Great Depression was effective or not. Historians, and politicians, still debate on the role that government intervention played. The first is that the students have fun. Obviously, students are in school to learn and grow as people, but it is important that they enjoy the process. If my students to not like this project, they will be less likely to completely buy in and not absorb as much.
The second way I will know that this project succeeded will be the results of both the summative and formative assessments. I will judge this on both the quality and content of each of the assessments. If students produce quality work, reflecting a strong level of knowledge, I will know that the project was properly structured and executed. Additionally, there position papers will tell me how well they are able to connect issues of the past to those of
