Compliance refers to people who seem to agree with the group, but privately do not change their ideas or behaviors. An example of this would be a friend who agrees with the group's behavior in public and will participate in public, but in private disagrees and does not participate in private. Acceptance is when someone believes in the behaviors and ideas presented to them. An example might be when a friend tells another friend that being mean or snobby to a certain group of people is ok because they dress or act differently than your particular group. Your group of friends listen because they see these people dress and act differently. Obedience is when someone follows orders and directions from an individual in a position of authority. Individuals follow these orders even though they often do not agree with them. An example of this type of behavior is an employee following the orders of his/her boss about treating a patron even if it is not the correct way, but the employee does it because the boss says to. …show more content…
