Group Proposal: Therapy Group for Teens Girls to Increase Self-esteem
Defining population
This proposal describes a psychoeducational therapy group centered on the themes of low self esteem as it relates to adolescent girls. The client population are 5-8th grade girls who are experiencing low self-esteem. The group will be held in a local Jr. high school and meet once per week, on Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. A second group, if needed will meet at the same time on Thursday. The group will consist of at least 8 participants. A group of this size is big enough for everyone to be involved and encourage cohesion (Corey, Corey, and Corey, 2010) The group will run for 10-sessions. Each session will be 1 ½ hours in length.
