People who experience mental disorders can sometimes do harm to others. For example, Adam Lanza who was the attacker of the Sandy Hook massacre, suffered from asperger's syndrome. Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger disorder (AD) or simply Asperger's, is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. The common symptoms of the disorder usually are problems with social skills, eccentric or repetitive behavior, unusual preoccupations or rituals, communication difficulties, limited range of interests, coordination problems, and skilled or talented.
Those who suffer from aspergers are not likely to commit such a crime. “As a child, Lanza had seizures and washed his hands excessively. In 2005, he was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, with doctors noting he lacked empathy and showed extreme anxiety and discomfort with changes, noise, and physical contact with others” (CNN). Adam Lanza lacked empathy due to his disorder. He also spent a lot of time isolated. The only time he would go out would be with his mother to the shooting range. The fact that he suffered from asperger's on its own was not the reason why he committed such a hateful crime. He was mentally sick and being exposed to guns growing up probably triggered the incident. He lacked empathy, he was not of aware of the degree of the situation he was causing. He did not understand how much pain he was causing both the victims and the loved ones of the victims. Those in their right minds do not drive to a elementary school and fire more than 150 shots at innocent people that can not defend themselves.
In comparison to Adam Lanza, Adolf Hitler was purely evil. Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1933 until his suicide in 1945. Hitler was responsible for starting World War II and for killing more than 11 million people during the Holocaust. Although some people may believe that Hitler must have suffered from a mental disorder, there is no proof. Some may think that there is no such thing as pure evil. There must be a trigger behind every act. If he suffered from some sort of mental disorder, how would he manage to get the entire country he was ruling to follow his commands. Kill innocent people. How could someone send children to concentration camps, and gas chambers. Hitler was not physically doing any of it, he was making orders and those part of the Nazi party were following his orders. Unless all of the Nazi party had mental disorders, although that is very unlikely. “Hitler's paranoid delusions, Dr. Redlich writes, could be viewed as a symptom of mental disorder, but most of the personality functioned more than adequately. Hitler, he added, knew what he was doing and he chose to do it with pride and enthusiasm. And while the Nazi leader was afflicted with a variety of physical ills, both real and psychogenic, he suffered from nothing severe enough to take the blame for his crimes” (NY Times). Hitler took pleasure in what he did. In fact he was also very smart. In 1938 Adolf Hitler slowly removed Jews from German society. However, with the cover of World War II, the Nazis created an elaborate and intensive system to work Jews as slaves and kill them. Hitler is considered one of the most evil people in history because of the Holocaust. Dzhokhar Anzorovich Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Anzorovich Tsarnaev were the two
