Public education systems has reshaped itself over the years. In past conversations my great grandmother would mention that the education system that exist now is not comparable to what it used to be when she attended school. Back then, students were taught that by doing well in school and going to college it would lead to a successful career. Robinson implies this in the beginning of the video (Robinson, 2010).” In today’s generation, some people do not believe in higher their education. Robinson used information that he already knew to prove his point about the system needing special attention given that our children are the ones being affected. Although, no personal information was given about Robinson in either video; through his ted talks, YouTube videos and making appearances on television people already knew he was. He is an expert in this field, therefore Robinson was able to make a connection between the audiences through his use of words such as “we”. He prepares the audience by letting them know at the beginning of his ted talk the purpose of discussion. He used his opening to bring up three themes that will be discussed. This will connect to his main points so to make it simpler for the audience to understand. The rhetorical questions such as “am I right,” “don’t you?” and “how annoying would that be” engages the audience in the conversation. For this purpose, he not only want the audience to listen, but to use it as a tool to go through the thinking process.

Robinson is an internationally recognized leader in education, innovation, creativity and human resources (Zimmer, n.d.).” So he is the right person to make conclusions about the school system.
