Conditions of a puppy farm?
How can puppy farms be prevented?
Paragraph
You may ask? What is a puppy farm? Well, puppy farms are large-scale moneymaking dog breeding facilities where the owners disregard the welfare of the dogs, but breed them for profit. Puppy farming is a major animal welfare problem in Australia. The main welfare issues with puppy farms include: Poor veterinary care, Foul living conditions. Insufficient and overcrowded shelter surroundings and common long-term and/or behavioral difficulties with puppies born at a puppy farms as they are born into a foul living environment. These poor puppies are then shipped to a pet shop to be sold, and without knowing that puppies past, someone has fallen love and has bought him.
Paragraph
If you ever went to a puppy farm you would not see a bed, toy, bone or even a blanket in site. These poor dogs are left outside in the cold, in unhygienic living conditions. Most of the time, the dogs are in little cages that might not allow them to turn around, or they are in a cage with numerous other dogs. Feeding and watering days were at a maximum of 3 times a week and a minimum of 2. This tends to make the dogs really dehydrated and skinny. From this, the dogs can get major health problems such as Epilepsy, Kidney and heart disease, Joint disorders, Blood disorders, Deafness and even Blindness.
