Learning has always fascinated me because I have an innate desire to create new ideas and use them. To me, learning new concepts is exhilarating and I feel the need to contemplate and store new ideas constantly or I get bored. While this is great for learning massive quantities of trivial information, I also tend to jump the gun since I do not always think through all of the nuances of my ideas before I try to use them. As a result, my ideas do not always have practical applications or they do not work out the way I had originally intended.
Besides conceptual information, the action item for Input also appealed to me since it gave valid suggestions on how I can improve myself. Right now I do not have any specific time set aside for learning things outside of my academic life nor do I participate in many intellectual discussions. I think that I can both entertain myself and learn more if I set some time aside on a regular basis to read and discuss well thought out ideas. This will also help energize my desire to learn more since I will constantly look forward to hearing or reading about new ideas. …show more content…
I often times forget to share my ideas with other people so that I can hear alternative viewpoints that reinforce or challenge my own. Having more discussions with other people will help me pick up new ideas and entertain different ways of thinking that I normally wouldn’t consider.
In summary, I like the action item of Input because it related to my desire to learn new things and pointed out ways I can improve myself.
