The book I’m reading is called Quarantine: The Loners Book One by Lex Thomas. The story revolves around our main character David Thorpe and his little Brother William Thorpe as they try to survive in their school that has now become a quarantine zone. David’s mom died in a car accident two years prior to the books beginning, leaving him a mess and causing him to detach from his life and become engrossed in work rather than anything else. A year after his mom’s death is where chapter two takes place where David finds out that his girlfriend Hilary had been cheating on him for some weeks sending him deeper into despair, causing him to start to heavily drink at the party he was at.
