Queen Elizabeth II’s Identity serving as an Asset to her Success as a Leader
On April 21, 1926, Queen Elizabeth II was born in London, England. She was destined for leadership because of her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth’s royal status. Her childhood was not ordinary, however, her parents did attempt to provide her, and her sister, Princess Margaret, with a normal and happy life. This consisted of homeschooling, dancing, and play. As Queen Elizabeth II grew up, she experienced a firsthand prospective of the British government. This prepared her for when her father passed away, from illness, and Queen Elizabeth II was crowned as the Queen of the British Monarchy. Her coronation was held on June 2, 1953. The relationships she shared with her parents and sister encouraged Queen Elizabeth II to start her own family. She married Prince Philip of Greece, and the couple later had their children, Anne, Andrew, Charles, and Edward. The importance of family has remained evident throughout her bloodline, which has only added to the Royal Family’s fame. “Queen Elizabeth II and her family continue to attract worldwide fascination” (Maclaran 2015).
