My initial opinion of all law subjects is that they will always be difficult because they require a deep comprehension as well as additional effort to pass. I expected RFB 301 to be the most difficult law subject I would experience, as it would also be the last law subject in our undergraduate program. I also expected that our professor would be strict and informative as it is part of teaching such a complicated subject. I was nervous about what the outcome of my grades would be. As soon as the first session was done in recitation type, I knew I had to study hard to pass this class. This motivates me to do my best because I admit that I don't take the initiative to study a subject before attending its class. I know that slacking will only lead to failure in this subject. While the material was challenging, I discovered that with dedication and perseverance, I was able to grasp the concepts and answer the questions in the recitations. Our professor was indeed strict, but also very engaging and dedicated, making the subject matter easier to understand. I like how Atty. De Castro only included important keynotes in his powerpoint that should only be the focus of such a broad topic. This way, it would also be easier for us to comprehend and retain the information. I think my favorite lesson of the whole semester is the business-related crimes and offenses. It's because of what Atty. has said in the previous discussion, that we might encounter this in the future, and knowing the elements under those will enable us to determine the offense if ever we are faced with that case. We as future corporate employees must understand business-related crimes and offenses since it will enable us to handle the legal complexity of the corporate world. Through knowledge of these crimes, we can protect our businesses and ourselves from possible legal problems.
