In the book Night it shows how Jews were discriminated by Hitler and his soldiers. Officers demanded “Anyone who still owns gold, silver, or watches must hand them over now” (Wiesel, 24). Hitler despised Jews and forced them to release all of their prized and valuable possessions. This caused the Jews to basically give up their home, and follow the commands of the soldiers. Ellie explained “The Hungarian police made us climb into the cars, eight persons in each one” (Wiesel, 22). Hitler and majority of his soldiers did not care about the Jews. Basically Firoozeh and her mother are foreign and are trying to go to school in America. “Firoozeh exclaimed “Everyone continued to stare at us” (Dumas 119). Firoozeh and her mother did not look or dress like the rest of the school. Yet alone, did not know anything about where they lived on the map or the history of their country. Firoozeh was feeling unwelcomed and negative: “Now all the students stared at us, not just because I had come to school with my mother, not because we couldn’t speak their language, but because we were stupid” (Dumas,119). Firoozeh feels like an alien because everyone was looking at her differently. Just because people don’t understand or fully cooperate the American culture, does not mean they should be looked at
