The general role of radiologic technologist is to provide clear and accurate images of various regions of the patient's body, in order for doctors to clearly diagnose or rule out many different types of illnesses or injuries. A technologist is expected to have patient care and safety as their main priority. Communication skills are a key component of this career, not only to ensure that patients feel comfortable in a potentially nerve-racking environment, but also to understand and relay important information to and from doctors and other medical professionals.
