Raisins And Osmosis Experiment

The raisins increased in mass because of the water. The process of osmosis let water molecules pass through the semi-permeable cell membranes in the raisins’ cells. The water level decreased when the process of osmosis occurred and water molecules moved to the hypertonic raisin cells. It is possible that errors could have occurred like measuring the mass incorrectly, putting too much water or too little water in the graduated cylinder, or the amount of time the raisins were in the water could have been incorrect. I have also thought about how the water cycle could have evaporated the water over the 20 minutes the raisins were in the warm water. This could lead to incorrect data. If I did this experiment again, I would include more tests
