An important trait that Ralph Nader and Michael Parenti share is the dire need to know ones history. Definitely the initial step to realization of where our country stands and also provides insight to how we acquired a government for the corporations. Through Michael Parenti’s examinations, we he draws point to the fact that the Plutocracy is ruled for the rich by the rich and is in action with, “At least half of the members of the Senate today [consisting of] millionaires…” (8). Parenti goes even further to state how we give the people who represent us in Congress, “a salary of $174,000 (as of 2010), which alone puts them in the top 3 percent bracket” (9). We the People are supposed to put our faith into the top 3 percent, and higher, of people to make decision about our healthcare, wages, taxes, and numerous livelihoods.
