Pausch not only states the important aspects of his life, he explains them in a relatable fashion, which effectively leads to my recommendation for the book. I would probably suggest that pessimists read this book, coming from my own experience as one. The book opened up a new perspective on the world that I had not seen before and taught me to appreciate what you have for the time being, amongst so many other things, which I truly enjoyed. After all, if a person who is going to die in six months can be optimistic, even more so than normal people can, there isn't any reason we shouldn't. I would also recommend this to people who have a close acquaintance that has cancer or some other disease or perhaps are suffering from it themselves. This book provides a truly unique outlook on those situations and addresses the truth, but not harshly. It is applicable to so many different circumstances, which is probably why I cherish it so much.
