Jamaica is a small island country in the middle of the the Caribbean islands with tons of beliefs culture and tradition. With its beautiful sandy beaches and great sounding reggae music and numerous amounts of unique foods to try. Jamaica is a hot spot for nightlife including reggae concerts, bars and restaurants.
In Jamaica religion takes up a ton of Jamaica's population. According to Nations Encyclopedia they have several denominating religions.(Jamaica - Religions) Most of the religious practices in Jamaica are the ones we know about such as Baptist, Jewish, Christianity, and Protestant. But the most unique one and the smallest one is Rastafarian.
Rastafarian only takes up about one percent of the population. This practice is what made reggae music popular and what started the dreadlock

Some of the major exports include rum, sugar, coffee, and yams. The biggest one out of all of them is sugar. Back in the fifteenth century Jamaica started using slave labor when Christopher Columbus introduced sugar cane to the Caribbean.(Commonwealth of Nations find export and imports enterprise) Still today sugar is the biggest export next to rum.
Jamaican culture next to religion has a bunch of mixed ethnicities. The people who settled and founded Jamaica were the Taino People according to everyday culture. Next to being called Jamaican, people also liked to be referred to as Jamaican Creole, because some of the people from the Taino People were from cuba. (Everyday Culture)
The Jamaican political system is considered a constitutional monarchy run by Queen Elizabeth the second. They also have a governor general that controls political issues kind of like how the US has a president but smaller and they belong to a group called the Privy Council of Jamaica which has six members appointed by the governor if the pope agrees. Political issues are usually solved like the political system we go by today.(The
