This ad for Ray Bans, shows a picture of a band playing a show, and running across the stage is a man streaking, with Smile written across his chest. On top of the ad is the text “Never Hide.” On the bottom left is a box with the polarized lenses of the sunglasses with text that says, “outshine”, and in the bottom right corner the logo for the brand is displayed.
The thesis for this advertisement is: Always be yourself, be unique, and to be confident. The purpose is to convince the audience to buy Ray Bans. The intended audience for this advertisement is young adults. The color in this ad is very bleak and washed out, so that the red polarized ray bans on the streaking man’s face stand out and “try” to be a focal point. The band looks confused but is very nonchalant as they keep playing. The band is the complete opposite stereotypically of the man streaking. He has long blonde hair, and promoting a happy attitude. They are dark, punk/Goth Their faces are painted so that either eyes look sunken in, but the paint also looks like it could represent sunglasses, though typically I could not see these band mates wearing ray bans. Also their demeanor doesn’t seem like they encourage happy behavior.

He is very happy and looks like he is having a great time. This implies that Ray Bans is a brand that will make you happy and let you do the things you want to do. The band is playing and some have stunned looks on their faces like they are shocked and surprised, but some are not even looking up and are very nonchalant about the situation.
