I chose the story by Raymond Carver titled “Everything stuck to him”, the theme I found

Most fitting is “sacrifice”. The father tells his daughter of the time he was forced to chose between

Hunting or staying home to help console her when she was an infant. Her mother was young and

exhausted and saw him getting ready to leave, she quickly gave him and ultimatum to cancel his trip

or help with their newborn child. When you make a sacrifice in marriage you’re sacrificing not to each

other but to unity in your relationship. As the man is eating his breakfast his waffles fall and stick to

him, this is after he make the decision to say home and help with his daughter. This would symbolize
