Back in 2013, I was interned as a graphic and web designer at an Advertising Agency in Islamabad. My 9am-5pm work was not enough to nourish my soul, consequently I started to find out ways that I could nurture my desire to do some good for the society. It was a point of self discovery for me which revealed many secrets of life. I wanted to do some social work for the less fortunate . I clearly started noticing people around .My office was located in a rushy sector of the city. At the back of my office was a park where I used to go when I normally wanted to stay alone. Most of the time there I met small children of school going age collecting garbage in big sacks. I didn't know their whereabouts but they came to the park daily. I planned to make a small evening school for them in that park so that they could spend some time in studying . I asked my colleagues to help me out so I arranged a small black board and some notebooks and pencils. I started teaching them the basics.I was ready to take the challenge as those children were totally blank.
In the beginning students didn't know how to hold a pencil , they could not even grip it properly. Many time my colleagues got frustrated and the children also got hopeless . Many times children left because of the fear that they will not succeed. But I kept my …show more content…
