My four years in JROTC has taught me a great number of things. The love of country more than self, the true meaning of respect and responsibility, confidence, discipline, money management, integrity, excellence, competence and self control.
I was taught to be disciplined, that we all control if we want to succeed or are will to fail. Discipline that I was taught helped me to lead the cadets to new heights while still being taught things along the way. The word discipline is the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior. Many of the kids in the program come from homes where discipline is not taught or isn't emphasized.
