Topic one discussed how Kafka incorporated his relationship with his father into Mr. Samsa’s and Gregor’s relationship. When Kafka told his father that he wanted to be a writer, not a shop owner, his father was very upset. His father felt as though Franz would not be able to provide for the family with that chosen career path. As such, with this exemplifying the relationship between father and son, I better understand why Mr. Samsa and Gregor had the relationship they did.
