One of the biggest reasons that consider the novel The Lovely Bones being banned is that it questions religion. For instance, Susie Salmon is narrating her perspective in her own Heaven, thus this could cause children to reconsider their beliefs. The author considered her version of Heaven to have no God and to have no kind of judgment for those entering Heaven. They also might not understand what the author was portraying about Heaven because the Heaven created in this novel is a place that is made of what the person wants it to be. There is no God in Susie’s Salmons Heaven. In addition, this novel includes explicit contents such as swearing, rape, sexual abuse, and violence.
