Kennedy mentions a few religious groups, but he leaves out the Muslims one of the worlds most practiced religions. If Kennedy were to write a speech today he would have to include all the religious groups in some way so that they don't think he the president of the United States does not like a certain religion. Kennedy states “ I believe in an America that is officially neither catholic, protestant , nor jewish, where no public officials either request or accepts instructions on public policy from the pope.” (Kennedy pg-487) Imagine if were today how every religious group he did not mention would react. even if he just had stated something as simple as “all the religious” groups would of been better than just stating a few and leaving some out. The words that did not come out of his mouth would ignite a huge argument in today's world even back then.
Today's world a president must be careful with the words he uses because he could easily offend someone when he talking. “Present an unavoidable contradiction to the widely held nation that America is a Christian Nation”. (Davis pg-473) If Kennedy were to say that in public not only the Muslims would get offended but jews and Protestants as well.

Kennedy would get a higher rating if he did so because it will make him sound if he cares about other religious groups.
