Remote Houston Play Critique

Remote Houston is a very non-traditional play, that leaves you not knowing who to applaud at the end. It is an interactive experience, being guided by an artificial voice that goes by the name of Heather. Through the play, you will explore many of the hidden gems in Houston, sometimes without even realizing it. During the experience, you will undergo many tests and challenges, that all have to do with the play, and you personally. The play includes seriousness and light humor, so it is definitely an enjoyable experience.

As you begin to assess the differences, you are unknowingly taken into a bank with your hoard, and asked to dance around. Soon enough, the music will end, yet some people will remain dancing. This is where you meet your “herd”. Your herd is a small group of people from your original hoard. As you separate into the three herds, you are whisked away to an escalator leading to an elevator. You then enter the elevator with your herd, all the while unaware that you are heading to the 60th floor of “”. While enjoying the view, the rest of the hoard comes in and joins you. Heather then begins to talk to you on a more personal level, before “disintegrating” completely, leaving you with a new guide that goes by the name of Will.

Will then takes you and your herd to the bottom of the building outside, where you can see where you just were. He then asks you do peculiar things, such as, pick a side of the road, only to be told you were choosing the wrong one. He also asks you to pretend your hands are binoculars and looks into the sky. When leaving that area, Will makes you run a race with the other people in your herd, which leads you to the underground tunnels of
