Enter Clarence Avant, founder of Sussex Records. When asked about where the money went, we see Avant get defensive and try to avoid the question at all cost, making me believe that the money went straight into his pockets.
When Segerman starts his research into finding out what happened to Rodriguez, we finally get the answer we have all been waiting for thanks to a webpage Segerman set up called “ Great Rodriquez Hunt”. When we finally get a glimpse of Rodriguez, to me it felt a little bit anti- climatic. We do however get to see the life Rodriguez has been leaving since being dropped from the label. A little sad as we see how popular he is in South Africa, and how completely different his life could have been, had he know his popularity.
Finally, after years and year of being off stage and away from the spotlight, Rodriguez returns to South Africa for a tour of his music with six sold out shows. It really was heartfelt thing to watch someone who loves music so passionately finally get the recognition he
