Many men were separated from their families and loved ones when they were drafted for WWI. This meant that many women had to get jobs to support their families and provide supplies for the troops overseas. Many of the men died in combat or had war related deaths. Many families had to resort to pulling their kids out of school and having them work to pay for food and bills. Times were tough around this time and even more sacrifices had to be made in order for many people just to stay alive. Many of these families were probably upper middle class to high class citizens 10 years before but due to the implications of the stock market crash some of these families ended up on the street begging for money or work.
Many people were affected in 20’s, whether it was from the war, the stock market crash, or just a longing to go back in time and relive past events. Many people were emotionally affected from the war and from having to sacrifices including give up some of their freedoms in America.
