It has become very popular nowadays and in 2010 the technology was listed as a “Word of the Year" by the American Dialect Society. In 2009, the technology columnist David Pogue gave the newer smart phones as "app phones" to distinguish them from earlier less-sophisticated smart phones or old mobile phones.
Mobile apps were originally offered for increased general productivity and information retrieval, giving all kinds of facilities including email, calendar, contacts, and stock market and weather information. This drastically increased the public demand and henceforth, the availability of developer tools also drove rapidly with expansions into other categories, such as mobile games, factory automation, GPS and location-based services, banking, order-tracking, ticket purchases and recently mobile medical apps. The explosion in number and variety of apps has made discovering new applications a “challenge”.
Nowadays due to an intense competition more and more and innovative apps are coming. These apps have remarkably eased the life of mankind. Therefore, these days’ people book their holidays on advanced smart phones. Before the existence of these apps people used to book holidays either by visiting websites, or by walking into the offices of holiday providers.
