I have chosen balance and facial expression as skills I need to improve. While doing ballet steps I noticed that I am not standing solid on the ground. Especially after doing pirouettes I was tottering. After doing mistakes like this my face usually changes its expression. That is why I chose facial expression as a skill I want to improve.
In my ballet warm up I am trying to train these skills. I start with some exercises on one leg (move it to the front/the side/the back).
While doing these exercises I am standing quite solid, but I am also doing them quite slow so it is easier. Maybe after some time I can try to do them faster.
In the photos of me doing these exercises
I noticed that my back could be straighter and my shoulder could go back more.
Then I am doing some different exercises to train my abdominals, because you need them for keeping balance while dancing.
I can improve my balance by doing my warm up at least once a day and practicing my pirouettes.
Warm up is very important it prepares mind and body for the dance movements. It aids muscle contraction and relaxation and minimizes the risk of injury.
