The Abandoned Henry Doorly Zoo

The Henry Doorly Zoo opened in 1894. It had dozens and dozens of animals. Form tiny, little birds to giant elephants. People loved to visit the zoo. The zoo was perfectly fine until 2020. People were getting very into their technology and we're forgetting about the zoos and parks. Henry Doorly Zoo was starting to lose a lot of money. They were going into receivership.henry Doorly was unable to get patronized. After struggling for two and a half years, they had to close and get rid of the animals. After they got rid of the animals, the zoo just sat there for over 100 years. During those years the zoo was thought to be haunted. People would sneak into the abandoned zoo and see things. After a while she found some pictures of the Henry Doorly zoo in all its glory. The zoo looked amazing. There were so many colors and animals. The Desert Dome was huge and beautiful inside and out. Alice was so obsessed with the animals. The only animals she had seen were house pets and some farm animals. The Scott Aquarium that she had seen earlier had so many fish. The water was so blue, and there were so many exotic sea creatures, like sharks and stingrays. It didn't look anything like it looks now. As Alice was scrolling through the pictures she saw the Butterfly Pavilion. Her eye lit up. She had alway loved butterflies, but they were kind of rare now. She loved all the colors and different species of them. And then there was the jungle with all the vines, trees, and animals, such as monkeys, hippos, and macaws. The African Grasslands were full of zebras, lions, and so much more. The Kingdom of the Night had crocodiles in swamps and bats in caves. Alice was told to go to bed, so she shut off her computer. All night she wondered how it would be to walk through that zoo, seeing all of its animals including Alice's favorites: the butterflies, zebras, and the sharks.
