I have chosen St. John Baptist de La Salle as my confirmation saint because this saint has become an important part of who I am. As a student of St. Joseph Collegiate Institute I have learned about why I should want to live my life like how John Baptist de La Salle lived his. St. John Baptist de La Salle was born in Rheims, France, in 1651. He was named a Canon of the Rheims Cathedral at the age of 16. Even though he became the provider of his family after his parents died, he still completed his theological studies was ordained to the priesthood in 1678, and received a Doctorate in Theology two years later.
