Timothée de Fombelle was born on January 1st, 1973 in Paris. He has five brothers and sisters, who he went to the West French countryside with every summer as a child, where they “lived like wild horses, making huts in the trees, playing in the river and losing themselves in the woods” (goodreads.com). De Fombelle also often accompanied his father, an architect, to Africa. Even though de Fombelle used to be a literature teacher in Vietnam and Paris, a huge part of de Fombelle’s life is theatre.
