Professor Michael Faulkner mfaulkner@devry.edu When it comes to salespeople and my previous encounters with salespeople I have learned many things. One is never ask anyone at Best Buy anything, I have had many experiences when going to Best Buy and asking an employee a question and didn’t get an answer. Usually I have to wait a couple of minutes just for the employee to look at the product that I am interested in buying I get an answer like “Well it looks like both items are the same, it is really whatever you prefer.” I do not understand why they hire people that don’t want to learn what they are selling. Don’t get me wrong, the employees are friendly and are nice to talk to but if do not know what products your are selling and you cannot answer a basic question ono which item is better, then please do not work there.
I know that even though people are not great at their jobs, but I do respect people who work at Verizon. Every time I enter one of the stores, I am approached by an employee, greeted by them and told where to sign in and someone will help when they are available. Even though it might take a little while for them to actually help me, whenever they do help me they are very helpful and understand the product. They give me variety of options and are able to answer all of my questions. I do not think I have had a problem at a Verizon store, besides waiting to be helped. I wished the Employees at Best Buy would be more professional and understood their products like Verizon.
Even though I have had many experiences with poor salespeople, the positives do out way the negatives. As of right know I work at Camp Topanemus, a day camp
