Reservoir Bulls Coaching Style

Introduction:
The under fifteens division of the Reservoir Bulls soccer club have been underperforming for the last three seasons, due to both internal and external factors. The divisions coach has resigned and I (formerly assistant coach) have been appointed to take over, and as such I have been given the responsibilities to reshape the infrastructure of our future training sessions.
There is a general lack of communication and understanding between the players that is hindering the clubs play-style and general performance. The players, while somewhat decent at goal-scoring and defending, lack an appropriate level of ball control and passing skills. Combining both aforementioned hindrances results in the obvious direction I need to take with the club. That is, focusing on improving overall team communication and understanding, ball control and passing skills.
There are six weeks until the start of the new season and I am aiming to rebuild the team as a whole, improving every player to the best of their ability such that we, the under fifteen’s division of the Reservoir Bulls soccer club can reach new heights and hopefully achieve a ranking that will allow us to move onto A level matches. He made all the decisions without asking for others opinions, which led to leaving no room for flexibility. The autocratic coaching style, while does ensure that one has full control over their session, leads to a more stressful and eventually a less effective environment. Players worry less about learning and perfecting skills and techniques on their own accord, and more about avoiding ‘punishment’ such as running around the oval due to not being able to successfully deflect five shots in a row as a goalie. I believe a coach should be more sensitive towards his/her players, thus creating a more friendly, open and inviting environment for passionate feedback to be
