He then realizes that he has committed an unforgivable offense, which was thoughtcrime. We can see the frustration and the anger Winston feels because the Party has complete control over everything from the way people speak, how one may express themselves, what one thinks, and even sex.
Winston becomes a little paranoid because he feels that the government is on to him and even has suspicion a co-worker. He is scared that this girl is a rat and she will turn him in for his thoughtcrime. Her name is Julia, a beautiful black haired girl who also works at the Ministry of Truth. We later find out that she had affairs with plenty of the Party members and love to have sex and become the love interest of Winston Smith. Their relationship does endure for sometime but Winston is afraid that they’ll be caught by the Party but Julia is not worried as much for she tends to be more practical and positive. However, with each day that passes, Winston hate for the Party
