In the article, Learning How to Code-Switch: Humbling, But Necessary, the author, Eric Deggans, gives examples and anecdotes, uses an organizational strategy, and directly addresses the audience in order to lead the reader to new thinking and to support his ideas and claims. His goal is to explain and teach the reader that code-switching isn’t a negative trait, but that it’s a necessary skill in our diverse society.
