There are many different versions of the classic tale, “Cinderella”. When you have so many versions, there will naturally be many differences. But, what’s important is that the versions are also similar to one another. That is what makes them Iterations. In “Rhodopis”, Rhodopis is a slave from Greece in Egypt. This is the Egyptian iteration. In Disney’s “Cinderella”, Cinderella is a mistreated young girl, abused by her stepsisters and stepmother. Rhodopis is abused as well, but she is abused by her fellow slaves. Yet, both of them still remain kind to their abusers. Rhodopis has a lighter skin tone, as she is from Greece, along with light hair. Cinderella, too, has light skin and light, blonde hair.
