Do I agree with Rifkin’s claim that animals have feelings too? The only reason I agree with his claim that animals have feelings is because I have experienced emotions from my own animals.

The claim Rifkin makes “It’s commonly believed that other animals have no sense of their mortality and are unable to comprehend the concept of their own death.” appears to be weak because he doesn’t have any evidence that animals think the way he is saying they do in that statement. …show more content…
Can you think of counterarguments that the author does not deal with and why?
A counter argument the author does not deal with is “Some philosophers and animal behaviorists have long argued that other animals are not capable of self-awareness because they lack a sense of individualism.”(para. 10) He has nothing to say against this counter argument because he is going off of his own opinions on animals, not facts.

Rifkin left stuff out on purpose because he is basically writing an opinion and if he wanted to persuade people to believe the same thing as him he wouldn’t write a counter argument to see double
