An environmental psychologist conducted an experiment to try and prove that walking near bodies of water does help overall health. He accumulated a group of participants and showed them pictures of different landscapes. It was visible that people's stress levels lowered when more greenery was showed in the landscapes. The experiment was repeated numerous times with a variety of people, the results were the same every time. He then tweaked the experiment and added water into the photographs, this was even more effective than just the greenery. When stress levels drop while someone is walking near bodies of water, they’re more likely to want to continue doing it because it makes them feel better.
