He put effort in his work and in Rand's eyes that's what a real man does, he was born with natural talent. For instance, Roark could not “the thought that it was a building and that he had to save it.” He is a man who puts his pride aside to fulfill his work. Roark's mirrors the loyalty he holds to his work , Rand sees this as a worthy person to society. Rand states "Independence is the only gauge of human virtue and value” ,Roark holds a unique characteristic of being independent. His ethics poses a big role it makes him worthy, as stated,“Roark treats a building as some would treat a person; he cannot see one that needs help without helping.” She emphasis this to show that this is a quality that should be followed.
