On Friday, 02/09/2018, at approximately 1000 hours, S1 Robbert Rodrigues was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and an outstanding, $5000 misdemeanor warrant out of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office for being under the influence of a controlled substance. This occurred at Mission Rodrigues was medically cleared at the San Mateo County Medical Center and booked into the main jail. INVESTIGATION:
On Friday 02/09/2018, 950 hours, I was dispatched to 7073 Mission Street, on the report of man rolling in bushes and screaming in a high pitch tone. When I arrived I saw a male, later identified as Robert Rodrigues. He looked disheveled, he was rolling around on the sidewalk. He was yelling incoherency.…show more content… I transported him to the Daly City Police station for processing.
I read Rodrigues his Miranda rights from a department issued Miranda card. I asked him if he understood each of his rights as I had explained them to him. He said yes. Rodrigues told me he had used 35 MG of methadone. He then was unable to focus on anymore of my questions. When I left the room and monitored him on the surveillance system I heard him screaming and he was throwing his arms around and squirming around on the bench in the interview room.
While there, Rodrigues continued to act erratically and I was concerned about his physical health. I requested paramedics respond to my location to evaluate him. AMR unit #43 arrived on scene and determined that his vital signs were elevated to the point that he would need medical treatment. He was transported to the San Mateo County Medical center for treatment and I followed the Ambulance to the hospital. Rodrigues continued to act erratically and the medical staff were forced to sedate and restrain him.
