In Heroes, Robert Cormier describes young Francis and old Francis as two different people. This will show how one decision can have such a big impact on not only your life, but also others. Firstly, young Francis went into the war. While he was in the war, he jumped on a grenade, a military weapon, that exploded on Francis' face. Francis was made a hero, but little did everyone know he was trying to kill himself. Everybody thought he did it to save others, but that is not the case. Now, making him unrecognizable.
