Robert Emanuel Walter. He was born in Bryn Athyn which is a small religious community in Pennsylvania, of 1920. Harry Charles Walter, and Myra Sauders Walter were his parents and he was their third child. His nickname growing up was Woiky he got called it by his friends and family. “ Wokiy was a lifelong resident of the borough, attending both the Bryn Athyn Church School which was the elementary school and the Academy of the New Church which was the high school, graduating in 1939”.(Feerrar) He enters the Army right before the U.S. entered World War II.
