A servant is someone who serves others before considering their own and a leader is someone who leads. The most significant differences between servant leadership models and other models are that servant leadership models are intended to help others. Servant leadership is developed from different characteristics and qualities with the intention to create a compassionate institution. The paradox of servant leadership was created by Robert K. Greenleaf; which is two opposite words joined into one meaningful word (Spears, 2010, p. 12).
