Brad and Janet seek help in the castle and are spooked by what they observe in the party style of the aliens, but soon transition towards their own secret desire to participate and wind up betraying each other for the pleasures that are offered to them.
In the end Brad and Janet are converted from the once innocent and old fashioned young adults to uninhibited and adventurous characters that would no longer fit into their previous lifestyle after the dramatic experience.
This movie and story line highlight the ongoing conflict between what traditional social expectations were at that time, how typical people feared what didn’t fit into their picture frame, and even condemning them for their far-fetched liberal demonstration of freedom to dismiss social norms.
The irony of this movie is that it eventually became a cult-like event to attend a viewing of the Rock Horror Picture Show while everyday people acted out the characters right in front of the screen. The audience eventually knew every word and line of the songs and dialogue which became part of a movement that would unintentionally bring more attention to being different or diverse in society and even embrace what was not normal far past the idea of
