Curly’s wife has always been alone even when she is around other people. When she feels alone she makes excuses to see and talk to other people. She is always going around asking where Curly is trying to not feel alone. She is always ‘“lookin’ for Curley, or… lef’ something’ layin’ around’” (Steinbeck 51). John Steinbeck incorporated this into the characters of his novella “Of Mice And Men”. If it was not for loneliness Curly’s wife would not have married Curly; she might have put herself into a relationship that she enjoyed.
