Love is a very powerful bond between two people that keeps them together in a relationship forever. Being in a relationship with someone can be very stressful and hard sometimes because you and your significant other may not always see eye to eye but it is important to remember that you love them. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet there are many types of love demonstrated throughout the story. There is very much romance between Romeo and Juliet for example when they got married in secret. “If that thy bent of love be honorable, Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow, By one that I’ll procure to come to thee, Where and what time thou wilt perfom the rite; And all my fortunes at thy foot I’ll lay And follow thee my lord throughout the world.”(V, ii, 143-148) You can tell that they are in love because they went behind their parents backs and got married even though it is banned because of the feud between their families. When you’re in love with someone you will do anything for them or to with them as demonstrated in Romeo and Juliet.
There is no unconditional love in Romeo and Juliet except from the Nurse and Friar Lawrence, because their parents were never there for them and always tried to control who they fell in love with. “She shall be married to this noble earl.”(III, iv, 21) In this sentence are doing what is best for their political standing in the world not what their daughter Juliet wants. It is important for parents to show love and concern for their kids no matter what because kids don’t know right from wrong and need guidance. Also if their parents had shown some love and concern they may have never killed themselves.
