Before this class I never knew about Russian Plays or stories. I only knew about American literature because that’s what most of my classes required me to read. I believe that is the case for many people today, if you was to ask them about Poor Liza, most people wouldn’t know unless they studied Karamzin’s work. Unlike Romeo and Juliet, this is a well-known play and story, so many theaters and schools performed this play and throughout my time in school I have read this story at least three times.
