Ronald Snider emphasis in these chapters was to bring Biblical truth to the wealthy and the poor. His emphasis was not to “flagellate” (139) the rich, but to enlighten the responsibilities every middle and upper-class citizen has. Snider wanted to remind the Christians and non-Christians that every rich person had the responsibility to care for the poor and help the oppressed. By reminding them of this responsibility, the rich might remember that all their wealth and influence came from the Almighty, and therefore, should be returned through the care of the poor and oppressed. Snider starts in explaining the responsibility of the rich through sin. By emphasizing on the influence of mammon, he reminds the rich of the Absolute Owner. This
